The Sun Is Out Helping Fry Some Nuggets

The 2023-2024 NBA Season is underway folks!

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets

News has come out in the last week that LeBron James has said he wants to play with both of his sons in the NBA. My fellow writer Gaurav Garg has pointed out that means James will be controlling games until he is into his mid-40s. Something tells me with how his recent injury history there is no way this will happen but boy would it be interesting to see. Tonight his Los Angeles Lakers are facing the Denver Nuggets.

As I am writing this post it is half time and Anthony Davis is leading the charge on the Lakers offense with 17 points. That is only 8.9 points below his career per game average. I know this is only one game folks. With it being the middle of game one though it will be very interesting to watch him play over the next few weeks as the season goes into full force because last year I rememberhearing a lot about how his offense was not up to par and how he was not clicking on the floor with the needs the Lakers had.

On the other side of the court for Denver the two players to watch in this game are Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. According to many reports they are expected to carry the Nuggets out of the gate this season. Some reporters seem to think these two guys might even keep the Nuggets in contention until the trade deadline with a couple complementary moves being made to carry them back to the playoffs depending on injuries that might come up to them and others on the team.

Phoenix Suns vs. Golden State Warriors

Of course in this game I am rooting for the Warriors. These two teams seem pretty evenly matched based on preseason numbers. Both were 4-1 in preseason. They were also both Top 10 in points and assists. Phoenix was tied for 16th in rebounds, with Golden State in 8th.

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are expected to lead the charge on offense as usual in this game with their magnificent shooting percentages from three point range. As expected Draymond Green is still out recovering from a sprained ankle. It is also worth mentioning that tonight Chris Paul’s first regular season game with the Warriors. He is expected to be a defensive difference maker for the Warriors this season helping them close out important games in better fashion. That will be interesting to watch.

With that… it is almost time for tip-off in Golden State.

If you cannot play with them, root for them.
